IT’S A LIFESTYLE
The Raw Lifestyle is about food, but it’s not just about food. It is about gratitude, positive thinking, forgiveness, loving you, not judging yourself or others. It is about exercising, releasing stress, being happy, at peace and adding value to others as you journey through life.
Eating a high raw diet and having stinking thinking and stress, will not lead to optimum health. Having a positive attitude and even exercising, while eating food void of life and nutrients, will not lead to optimum health. We were created to be balanced in our bodies, emotions, and spirits, to bring harmony in the journey of life, that has been set before us!
I have found that many people really do not like themselves, let alone love themselves. Several times in the Old and New Testaments, it is written, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Do you love yourself? You can find out if you do, by listening to your “self talk .” So often, the way we feel about ourselves is not kept to ourselves, but intertwined throughout everyday conversations with others.
- “I don’t think I’ll ever get a job I really love”
- “I am so fat”
- “I will never get in shape”
- “I can’t make enough money to pay my bills”
- “I’m not creative”
- “I am never good enough”
- “I am a bad parent, just look at the way my kids act”
- “Life is so hard”
Other evidence of people not loving themselves are, putting others down, having a critical or negative spirit, making excuses for their own bad behavior, being withdrawn and passive, or even over confidant or overbearing.
Those who have learned to love themselves for who they are – desire to build others up, not tear them down. They aren’t threatened by the success of others, but rejoice with them. You’ve heard the saying, “Hurting people hurt people”? How many of these hurting people have really learned to love themselves? Most are not even aware that they don’t. I certainly didn’t realize it in my own life.
Negative self talk and all the negative energy that goes with it, is stressful to maintain, and stress and health cannot coexist in harmony in the bodies or lives of people. Stress does more damage to our physical and emotion well being than anything else in life. What thoughts roll around your head? What things do you say to yourself or to others about YOU?
It all begins with an awareness. From there, we can acknowledge what we know and start a new path in our journey. When I changed my lifestyle, I began listening to my self talk and found many of the thoughts to be very negative, degrading, and even demoralizing. Wow… and I had wondered for many years, why I was so miserable in life, never realizing how negatively I thought about, or spoke of myself.
My journey to loving myself, and having a positive attitude, began with truly forgiving myself, which then propelled me to begin the amazing journey of “Loving Me.” The negativity was transformed to positivity. Shame fell off, as did guilt and many insecurities.
For the first time in 49 years, I was comfortable in my own skin. I was free to love others unconditionally; free to accept God’s love for me in an new way; free to express my love for God without holding back; and free to no longer believe the lie that I wasn’t worthy to be loved!
My life was radically changed, when the way I thought about myself changed! Do you love yourself? Don’t put it off! You are so worthy to be loved by yourself and others! If you do love yourself, Congratulations! Life only gets better from here!
