Over the years, I’ve often been asked why I “went raw” or why I adopted a raw lifestyle. My main answer is, “I was desperate.” I wanted to feel better. I just wanted to feel good, to feel “normal.” I was tired of being sick, depressed, lethargic, dealing with digestive issues and injuries that wouldn’t heal, always feeling tired and so much more. I knew there was more to life than what I was experiencing but couldn’t seem to bridge the chasm to wholeness and health – until I “went raw.”
People who have known me for awhile have seen many changes in me since I changed my life style. Probably the biggest changed others have noticed is the 45 pounds that I have released early on in my journey. The second most commented on area of change has been my countenance; the peace in my face, the light in my eyes.
Filling the body with nutrient rich foods allows the body to spend less time digesting the food eaten and more time in healing disease, illness, rebuilding and restoring all of the cells and tissues necessary to support a healthy body.
A Raw Living Food Lifestyle brings:
- Increased energy
- Weight loss
- Improved skin tone and softness
- Mental clarity
- Healing of illness, disease and injury
- Better, more restful sleep
- Strengthened immune system
- Anti aging – You will look younger in a relatively short time.
God created the human body as an amazing healing machine. It was designed to heal itself from the inside out. When we put proper fuel in it, don’t abuse it, give it plenty of water, rest and exercise, it will function at optimal capacity, providing health, energy and life to the fullest.
Toxins are all around us: In the air we breathe, the clothes we wear, the food we eat, the products we put on our bodies and hair, the cleaning solutions we use, the homes we live in, the vehicles we drive, and the list goes on. Toxins that are consumed, inhaled or absorbed through the skin, get stored in the body’s organs and tissues, many times overwhelming the body’s ability to get rid of these foreign substances.
The more pure foods that are consumed, the more the body can function as it was designed to. Healing comes quickly, when the body is fed whole plant-based foods in their original state (little or no processing) and fresh vegetable and fruit juices. The body will spend less time on the digestion process and more time on trying to eliminate the toxin already in the body, thus giving the cells and tissue a chance to receive the nutrients they need to perform their job and role within the body.
